What is the CPWD e-Tender portal?

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is the principal construction and maintenance agency of the Government of India. It constructs and maintains central government office buildings, residential colonies for government employees, Parliament buildings, border infrastructure, diplomatic enclaves abroad, and heritage monuments under its jurisdiction. CPWD publishes all tenders above ₹2 lakh on its dedicated e-tendering portal, making it one of the most active construction procurement platforms in India. Types of works tendered

CPWD tenders cover the full spectrum of building and civil works: new construction (multi-storey office complexes, residential quarters, labs, hospitals), renovation and retrofitting, annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for electrical systems, HVAC, lifts, and civil maintenance of large campuses, roads and landscape work within government complexes, and specialised works such as acoustic treatment, IT infrastructure, and modular furniture supply. Enlistment and pre-qualification

Contractors must be enlisted with CPWD in the appropriate class (Class I through VII) based on financial limits and technical capacity. Class I contractors can bid for works of any value; lower classes have financial caps. Enlistment requires submission of work experience certificates, financial statements, and technical staff credentials. Enlistment is valid for three years and must be renewed.
