What is IREPS?

The Indian Railway E-Procurement System (IREPS) is the integrated procurement portal for Indian Railways, operated by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). It covers procurement by all 18 zonal railways, production units (ICF, RCF, MCF, BCF, CLW, DLW, RWF, BWL), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), and other railway PSUs. IREPS handles both stores purchase (materials and components) and works contracts (civil, electrical, signalling, and telecommunications), making it essential for any supplier to the railway ecosystem.

Types of procurement on IREPS

Stores tenders cover consumables, spare parts, rolling stock components, track materials, signalling equipment, and IT hardware. Works tenders cover civil construction and maintenance, electrification, station redevelopment, new line works, and signalling and telecommunications. Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs) are common for regularly consumed stores items, allowing approved vendors to receive call-off orders throughout the contract period without repeated tendering. IREPS also publishes tender for consultancy and technical services.

Vendor registration requirements

Suppliers must be registered on the Indian Railway Vendor Registration (IRVRA) portal and hold an approved vendor number for specific item codes before they can be invited to participate in stores tenders. Works contracts require enlistment with the relevant railway division or zonal headquarters based on class of contract and work category. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) with Class-3 level is mandatory for bid submission.

How Bidovate helps with IREPS

Railway procurement is highly specialised: opportunities are spread across 18 zones and dozens of units, with distinct item codes and qualification registers. Bidovate monitors IREPS continuously across all zones, filters opportunities by your approved item codes and works categories, and alerts your team to new tender notices before the briefing period ends. AI analysis highlights amended specifications and pre-qualification criteria changes that vendors commonly miss in ARC renewals.

Never miss a IREPS tender

Bid India monitors Indian Railway E-Procurement System in real time and sends your team matched opportunities before the submission deadline.
